THE MISSION OF THE PALISADE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS TO PROTECT THE LIVES AND PROPERTY OF THE CITIZENS AND VISITORS OF THE TOWN OF PALISADE AND THE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT IN THE SAFEST MANNER POSSIBLE

The Palisade Fire Department serves an area of approximately 8.5 square miles. The Palisade Fire Department is a combination volunteer and paid organization.  Both volunteers and paid are serving as firefighters, Paramedics, EMT-I’s, EMT-B’s and First Responders. The Department has 23 volunteer Firefighters/EMT’s and 1 paid/career Firefighter/EMT and 1 paid/career Firefighter/Paramedic who are available to cover incident response and perform administrative, training, and maintenance functions supplementing the core of volunteer personnel who are a reservoir of FF / EMT’s from the community and outlying areas.

Our firefighters fight to save lives and property from the ravages of fire. They serve the public with dedication, professional skills and sincere integrity. Firefighting technology continues to advance, but even with all the technology available, it still takes firefighters to extinguish fires, rescue people and provide emergency medical treatment. It takes people who are willing to serve the community in which they live and work, by giving unselfishly of themselves to aid friends, neighbors and strangers alike.

Spring is coming!!!

It’s that time of year again to burn those slash piles and fields.  Please keep any fires at least 50 feet away or more for any structure. Also the winds can carry embers very far and into places that you didn’t want burned.  

Remember if you start a fire where it should not be you could be responsible for any financial loss.

Palisade Fire Department, as well as other local fire departments, relies on volunteers for the delivery of emergency services. According to the National Fire Protection Association, approximately 94 percent of the fire departments in the United States are entirely or partially volunteer.
